Surface + Colour

Anodising

Sandalor® Sheets

This anodic oxidation converts the metal surface into a dense and very hard oxide layer, which is firmly joined to the underlying material. It offers protection against mechanical damage and is both weathering and corrosion resistant. The oxide layer being transparent, the material's metallic gloss is fully preserved. Various processes are available to colour this oxide layer. The colour itself is then embedded in the layer and remains protected from harmful environmental influences.

Anodised aluminium can easily be recycled for further manufacturing and does thus represent a sustainable and environmentally friendly surface finish.

Powder coating

Facade in Powdercoating

Powder coating, also known as stove-enamel finish, firmly and perfectly joins to the underlying material, can be machined and offers both a high chemical and thermal resistance.

Electrostatically charged polyester resin is applied by spraying compressed air towards the electrically grounded component. Defined particle quantities will then be electrostatically attracted to its surface. The polyester resin is fluidized in a smelting furnace, building a dense polyester resin layer which is characterised by its high resistance against environmental influences and mechanical damage.
Electrostatic powder coating is an environmentally friendly technique, as it does not require use of any solvents and is very effective with a powder recovery ratio of about 98%.
